| The Kent Wind Soloists ensemble is one of the leading professional chamber groups in the South East. It was formed in 1990 by principal wind players of the Kent Sinfonia orchestra.
This highly acclaimed ensemble is based on a wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon). Our repertoire is extensive and varied, spanning nearly four centuries. Although we perform music for many indoor functions, our music is also suitable for outdoors e.g. courtyards and gardens in stately homes and castles etc., where our sound can add a special ambience. For small indoor venues and functions, we can also offer a flute/oboe duo. We also perform more serious music for recitals in concert halls, churches and other venues, for festivals, music clubs etc., and, sometimes including piano, can contract or expand from two to sixteen or more players. Another aspect of our work involves education outreach workshops with schools Kent Wind Soloists’ many performances have included the Eurotunnel Opening Ceremonies, Kent County Show, Brighton Festival, Boulogne ‘Musique et Ramparts’ Festival and the ‘Masterclass’ programme on Classic FM. We have also performed for a function held at Leeds Castle, Kent, in the presence of HRH Princess Alexandra. Other performance venues have included Penshurst Place, Chiddingstone Castle, Great Maytham Hall, Chevening, Chilston Park and Castle Ashby. Latest performances include ‘A Day at the Wells’ at the Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells, a recital at the Dover Discovery Centre and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw’s 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration at Chevening. Our most recent performances have been for a Livery Dinner at the Drapers’ Hall, City of London and a corporate event at Hadlow College.
